This is meant to be a free compression spring design page to calculate a wire size, rate, lengths, stress,  and temperature limit for Music Wire, Chrome Silicon, Stainless 302 304 and 17-7.
We hope to add inconel(r) 600 soon. This only uses wire sizes in certain ranges. Sizes above .500  in. require special considerations. Call if you have any questions.
* The Max. Temperature is a published limit for the material and does not represent a trouble free application at this temperature. So loss of some force and length can be seen.
